1981 Ironhead Roadster Build
Picked this up for a good price, not quite a basket case but pretty close. Gearbox was locked up, brakes were gone, electrics were bodged and, well, it wasn’t exactly an aesthetic masterpiece.
Also, I’m in Bulgaria. Not a hell of a lot of Harley parts available locally…
Somebody had rear-ended it and smashed the swingarm into the case. The tranny had been rebuilt, badly: pulled the clutch and gears, put them in the right way. Rebuilt the brakes; rewired the beast and put in new handlebar switches and ignition components. New head gasket on the front cylinder. Changed the handlebars & replaced some cables.
A bit of cosmetics: swapped the tank, a new paint job, custom leather saddle & P-pad by Oyama’s Garage & custom bags by Mario Kapuchev. A few other bits of bling as well, particularly a 7″ LED headlamp because I’m fucking blind at night and some 4″ risers. Scrapped the eyebrow and old style gauges because I simply couldn’t find a tach that worked: wound up with a set of aftermarket Dyna clocks and idiot lights. I did the base spray & details, Valentin Stanev on airbrush. Custom ironwork sissy bar by John Dennahy.
Nice work. They sure do have big license plates over there!
